Deep Sea Fishing from Puerto Aventuras
Puerto Aventuras has the most protected marina on this stretch of coast, and it sits right in the middle of the Riviera Maya between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. The drop-off is close to shore here, so the lines go in minutes after leaving the breakwater and you spend the charter fishing instead of running.
This is the largest fleet we run: the Riviera 32 and Tocayos 38 for smaller groups, the Scout 43 with air conditioning, and the Fourwinns 48 and Flybridge 47 with open bar for groups and events. The species are the same you find in Puerto Morelos: sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo and kingfish offshore, snapper and grouper on the reef.

Puerto Aventuras Marina
A gated marina village halfway between Playa del Carmen and Tulum — about 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen, 15 from Akumal and 30 from Tulum.
Transport
Round-trip transport from your hotel is available at extra cost — usually around $200 USD round trip depending on the hotel, with Suburbans available if you want something more comfortable.
What You Can Catch
Sailfish, blue and white marlin, mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, kingfish, barracuda, snapper and grouper — the mix changes with the season. See the season chart on our home page.
Best Time to Fish
There is fishing year round in the Mexican Caribbean. Sailfish and kingfish run strongest in the cooler months, mahi-mahi and marlin in the warmer ones.
What to Bring
Hat, sunglasses, sandals, light clothing, photo ID and some cash. Just bring sunscreen and your camera — the rest is on board.
