A 33-Foot Sportfisher With a Fighting Chair and a Full Cabin
The Post 33 Footer is a 33-foot sportfisher that runs out of Marina El CID in Puerto Morelos, the small tourist town on the coast between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. It carries a fighting chair in the stern, so whoever is hooked up can sit down and work the fish properly instead of standing and fighting it off the rail.
Below deck the cabin has a kitchenette, a bed and a couch, plus a private head, so there is somewhere to sit in the shade, eat and use the bathroom on the longer trips. On deck we set up five rods with outriggers and downriggers, Penn International tackle, a fishfinder and GPS, plus a live bait well and fresh bait service. Our captains have more than 25 years of experience in this area and we fish a short distance from the coast, so the lines go in about 15 minutes after leaving the marina and around 90% of the trips are productive. Private charter, seven days a week · prices in US dollars (USD). Pick the rate by group size — up to 6 guests or up to 8 guests. The fishing permit is $10 USD per person on top of any option.
Departure, Itinerary & Policies
Departure Times
4-hour trips leave at 7:45 am or 12:30 pm. The 6 and 8-hour trips leave at 7:45 am. We run seven days a week.
Your Itinerary
We leave the marina, drop the lines about 15 minutes later and start trolling or bottom fishing. Back at the pier at 11:45 am or 4:30 pm on the 4-hour trip, 1:45 pm on the 6-hour and 3:45 pm on the 8-hour.
Where Is Puerto Morelos
Puerto Morelos is a small tourist town on the coast between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, an easy drive from either one. The boat leaves from Marina El CID.
What You Can Catch
The species change with the season — you can see the season chart on our home page. We fish close to shore, so around 90% of the trips are productive.
What to Bring
Hat, sunglasses, sandals, light clothing, photo ID and some cash. We can cook your catch for $10 USD per person plus drinks, and we offer Gray Taxidermy service.
Who Can Come
No experience needed and kids are welcome from 5 years old. For safety, this trip is not suitable if you have limited mobility, back problems, recent surgery, are pregnant, or use a wheelchair or cane.

If the harbor master closes the port for bad weather, you get a full refund or a reschedule.
